NFL Recap: Denver Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

During a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Broncos managed to secure a close win over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and specialist Wil Lutz provided the game-winning decisive three-pointer to secure the ugly win.

Defensive Display Seals Game

Even with registering nine sacks versus Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after conceding a two-point play in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets managed a mere 82 offensive yards during the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's 27-yard field goal with just over five minutes remaining.

Record Struggles for Jets Offense

In spite of their horrendous performance, the Jets still had possession with a opportunity to score a potential victory. But Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion rather than sending out kicker Nick Folk for a long kick.

Fields had difficulties throughout, completing just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. New York ended up with negative ten net yards passing, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"The aerial attack was completely absent," the coach commented following the contest.
