Springfield's Favorite Family Arrives in Rocket League: But It's Not the Vehicle You're Hoping For
It was previously announced that the iconic animated series was collaborating with Fortnite, but this isn't the sole destination where enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the world of Springfield. The beloved show is coming over to Rocket League, introducing an vehicle customization option that will also be compatible in the Fortnite universe. However, whether players will truly desire to use it is a different matter, as fans have their hearts set on just one Simpsons car the community is itching to drive, and this new offering isn't that one.
What Fans Really Want
While many players would absolutely enjoy to face off while driving Homer's custom creation—the famously flawed automobile Homer built himself in the classic installment "the one where he meets Herb"—that's not what's being offered. Not even receiving the massive SUV, the heavy-duty truck featured in season 10. Instead, players will obtain the family's everyday beat-up four-door, which has been in the family since the show's early days. Even though this particular car has seen better days, it remains an iconic symbol of the show. For those who pay attention to Rocket League car hitboxes, the Simpson family car uses the identical collision model as the Dominus body type.

Additional Themed Cosmetics
And it's not the sole cosmetic from the series coming to Rocket League. This limited-time event will also include a series of challenges to unlock more rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. According to a press release, the missions will task participants to "get as many centers and clears as there are the show's years on air, gather boost canisters as if your navigation is set to the Simpson house, and travel a specific distance worthy of acquiring the perfect donuts!"
While the complete list of earnable items hasn't been revealed, here is what's been announced up to this point:
- Blinky antenna topper
- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
If the key art is a reliable guide, it appears players will also receive wheels featuring a television displaying The Simpsons' opening credits, Kang and Kodos topper, a frosted doughnut trail, and boost effects themed to smoldering rubber and Krusty's famous restaurant.
Event Timing and Fortnite Connection
The Rocket League collaboration coincides with the extensive Simpsons invasion of Fortnite, which includes a completely new playable area of the fictional town, as well as a month-long Battle Pass. The Rocket League x The Simpsons event launches on November 1st and ends on Nov. 17.
